URBANA — Champaign County Bikes will make your bike commute to work on Thursday a lot easier as well as more fun. From 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday — Bike to Work Day — the organization and bicycle shops will staff nine Bike to Work Day Welcome Stations in Champaign, Urbana and on the University of Illinois campus. Before you know it school will be back in session and leaves will begin to change. But, right now, it is still peak summer season! So don’t waste another minute – head outside to celebrate (with sunscreen and lots of water, of course)! July is National Parks and Recreation Month – and whether you’re spending the summer close to home or far away, we are sure you can find a place nearby to play outside. Continue.

The Daily Illini | Urbana to hold first bike education course


The city of Urbana will host its first bike education course next Thursday. The course serves as an option to reduce the $100 fine normally given for biking offences. During the month of May, two classes will be offered and serve as a trial run for a potentially permanent option for bicyclists written tickets.
