I was a regular exerciser…but then I got breast cancer. After surgery I wanted to get back to my usual routine, but I was afraid. I didn’t want to make any sudden movements for fear that I would jostle my stitches or hurt myself. I was worried about developing lymphedema, swelling of the arm that’s common after lymph node removal. But I wasn’t used to sitting around and not moving, so I decided to go slowly to regain control over my body through exercise.
