The Daily Illini | Urbana to hold first bike education course

The city of Urbana will host its first bike education course next Thursday. The course serves as an option to reduce the $100 fine normally given for biking offences. During the month of May, two classes will be offered and serve as a trial run for a potentially permanent option for bicyclists written tickets. Ghungroo Dance Company is a dance team at the University of Illinois committed to showcasing various dance styles of Indian culture. The past year GDC has totally reinvented itself with a variety of never-before-featured styles of dance as well as a slew of new dancers. The team has performed at various events on campus as well as around Illinois. Every year, GDC has a show around March where these talented, high-energy group of dancers display their complete love and passion for dance.

Febfest Dance Weekend

The Eleventh Annual Febfest | Traditional Dance & Music Weekend (Feb. 10-12, 2012).

The Illini Folk Dance Society in conjunction with the Central Illinois English Country Dancers, and the Urbana Country Dancers will be holding a weekend of traditional dance and music at the Illini Student Union, 1401 W. Green Street, Urbana, on the campus of the University of Illinois.

The weekend will feature a Friday evening contra dance, a Saturday evening English Country dance ball, a Sunday afternoon farewell dance and a fun assortment of workshops during the day Saturday and Sunday morning. Click here for more information.
